10 Ways to Enjoy Blacksburg, VA After Your Meeting or Conference

Primarily known as the home of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia is so much more than just a college town. Rich in history, plentiful in the Arts, fruitful in agriculture, and abounding in adventure, there truly is something for everyone to enjoy. 

If you’re traveling to Blacksburg for a meeting or conference, plan plenty of time to wind down and process all that you have learned. Here are just a few ideas of things you don’t want to miss when visiting. 

What to Do in Blacksburg, VA

ADVENTURE 

If adventure is what you seek, look no further! How about a (1) guided all-day rock climbing trek? If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground, maybe an (2) underground cave exploration is more your speed. 

If you’re looking to enjoy the scenery you could (3) hike or bike the 7-mile hike along the Huckleberry Trail, enjoy the waterfalls at Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve or Cascade Falls. If you’re up for it,  (4) enjoy the view atop Angel’s Rest.

RELAXATION

(5) Wine down at one of the many wineries in the area or take a tour. If you happen to be visiting in the spring, the annual Fork and Cork Festival features local food, wine, and art.

TAKE IN A GAME

If baseball is more your speed, (8) check out a game with one of the local minor league teams from April through September.

COMMUNE WITH NATURE

If you want to be amazed by creation, (9) check out Natural Bridge. Featuring several natural wonders, you will be awe-inspired. On the campus of Virginia Tech, you can (10) find Hahn Horticulture Garden. The gardens are entirely cared for by staff and students and feature local annual and perennials as well as aquatic plants. Admission is free but the experience is priceless.
