Blacksburg Fork & Cork

It’s not spring in Blacksburg without the Blacksburg Fork & Cork, one of the town’s most popular events. It returns again this year on April 22.

An initiative of The Blacksburg Partnership, a local nonprofit, will wow you with the latest products from local and regional wineries—sample wines as well as some of the best restaurants from Blacksburg and the region. Live music and cooking demos will happen all day.

International Street Fair

The 61st International Street Fair returns to Blacksburg on April 24 from noon through 6 o’clock at the Alumni Mall. Here, you’ll have the unique opportunity to experience the food, music, fashion, and more from 40 countries in one day. International Students from Virginia Tech will be on hand to demonstrate traditional dances and broaden your mind with interactive exhibits from around the world.

Blacksburg Restaurant Week

Blacksburg is well known for its culinary scene, which includes influences from all over the world. Top chefs come out for Blacksburg Restaurant Week, showcasing their seasonal menus for spring. From Thai to Tex-Mex and everything in between, Blacksburg Restaurant Week is sure to impress. It happens at the end of June.

Blacksburg Lavender Festival

The 15th annual Blacksburg Lavender Festival at Beliveau Farm will be a unique one this year. There are four whole Sundays to enjoy the beautiful blooming lavender with your family, friends, or date.

The Festival takes place on weekends throughout June and July. It’s a family-friendly event where leashed dogs are welcome in outside areas. Children under two participate free, and those aged 2-11 enter for just $5.

Looking ahead…

July: Art at the Market

Taking place on July 15, Art at the Market is the leading outdoor fine arts show in the Blacksburg area. It pairs an outdoor exhibition by local artists with a can’t-miss fresh breakfast at the farmer’s market. You can savor a fresh, hearty meal, live music, and the chance to meet with the area’s leading artistic talents.

Many of the art pieces you see during Art at the Market are available for sale, too.

June through September: Market Square Jam

Downtown Blacksburg’s Market Square is one of the cornerstones of the community. Now, you can drop in on any Wednesday evening from June all the way through September to appreciate fun times and live music. Traditional “Old Time” music is the centerpiece here. Old Time musicians may serve as jam hosts at Market Square Park. Music begins at 7 p.m. and lasts until 9 o’clock.
