Autumn is a blissful time in Blacksburg, Virginia. The weather becomes the ideal temperature to explore and play outside without being too hot. Some of the seasonal highlights each year include football, foliage, and special event fun. Here’s a quick list to guide you toward some events and activities we recommend savoring this fall.
Blacksburg Brew Do
Love craft beer? Then you’ll love the award-winning Blacksburg Brew Do festival and the annual beer pairing dinner hosted the night before right here at The Inn at Virginia Tech’s restaurant, Preston’s. This year’s festival features over 50 breweries, live music, food from local restaurants and food trucks, craft vendors, and more! Our own Executive Chef Scott Watson will even be participating in one of five live cooking demonstrations at the festival. Preston’s Brew Ridge Beer Dinner is the perfect way to kick off the weekend with creative dishes and perfectly paired craft beers from along Virginia’s Brew Ridge Trail.
Sinkland Farms
Pumpkins, beer tasting, and overall autumnal fun, Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festival is the one-stop-shop for fall festivities. Head there on any given weekend until November if you fancy to pick pumpkins, ride wagons, navigate through a corn maze, enjoy live music, and do all of your favorite fall activities.
Foliage Photos
Take a second to close your eyes and take in a deep breath. Now, open your eyes and look around. What do you see? Spectacular fall foliage? If not, it’s waiting for you in Blacksburg! Whether on a stroll, hike, or drive, you’ll see the trees erupt into a symphony of colors that provide the perfect backdrop for your next photo on Instagram.
Virginia Tech Hokies Football
Around here, fall is for football and cheering on the Hokies! Hokie Nation is incredibly passionate, and it’s absolutely infectious. We recommend taking a glance at the schedule to see which game works well for you, and then checking our event page to find out the details of our complimentary tailgate!
